London Eye – London – UK

You should know the facts before going on board!

Location: Western end of Jubilee Gardens, on the South Bank of the River Thames, London Borough of Lambeth

Opened: 9 March 2000

Height: 135 metres, currently is the third tallest Ferris wheel after 165 metres Singapore Flyer and 160 metres Star of Nanchang.

Comparison: It is the fourth tallest structure in London after the BT Tower, Tower 42 and One Canada

Duration: Each rotation takes about 30 minutes

Capacity: The London Eye can carry 800 passengers per revolution with 25 people inside one (of 32) air-conditioned capsule.

My Take: I wouldn’t spend GBP 20 for 30 minutes ride; I would prefer to be up, close and personal with London by walk rather than by view. It’s not the tallest, but it is still the most iconic Ferris wheel in the world (For me at least!). Even during summer, London is a great place to wander with a breeze of wind plus healthy sunshine. Come on, shed some pounds!
