In between Cuzco and Macchu Picchu lies a small city, Ollantaytambo. Most part of Ollantaytambo is standing against the Inca stone wall; though partially destroyed by the Spanish armada. It is a place worth exploration.
The Fortress Ruin is still the city’s tourist magnet; people flock in just to see the brilliant irrigation system and grand temple. The historical trails left me in awe; I wondered how the locals created the idea during their first settlement here.
How to get to Macchu Picchu? It is a good 90-minute train ride from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Caliente.
