When it comes to traveling, I have a habit of not going back to the same place twice. However, for Borobudur Temple in Yogyakarta, I made an exception. 17 years ago, Borobudur Temple became my first cultural splendor in traveling. My visit to the world’s largest Buddhist temple left an indelible impression on me. The complexity of the architecture and the great attention paid to the details of the sculptures left me in awe. Borobudur has come a long way to survive a terrorist bomb attack, major earthquakes and Mount Merapi’s eruptions. Hopefully, none of the above will affect the crowds of tourists flocking to Yogyakarta for this fascinating Buddhist monument.
