Cappadocia, a region which comprises the provinces of Aksaray, Nevsehir, Nigde, Kayseri and Kirsehir cities, is highlighted with a spectacular landscape, which has been sculpted brilliantly by erosion. With a continuation of human works, the rugged terrain of Cappadocia has been transformed into a labyrinth of living quarters in the form of human-created caves.
The entire region has been shaped into caves, alleys, towers, cones and fairy chimneys, and is often dubbed one of the most special places on earth.
Not to mention the gorgeous underground tunnel which goes as deep as sixty meters with perfect accessibility for tourists and enough air circulation for breathing.
The gorgeous topography can be well viewed with the iconic sunrise hot balloon ride over the spectacular setting that lies beneath. Drifting over the incredible panorama, the ride will leave you breathless. And, as many guidebooks have mentioned, it is one of the not-to-be-missed activities for travel junkies to try in Turkey, a sentiment with which I have to fully agree!
Though Cappadocia is located 730 km from Istanbul, with the extensive coverage of air (approx 75 minutes) and land (approx 12 hours) transportation either province can be reached effortlessly. So, grab your tickets and get ready to be blown away by the experience!
it looks so scenic. i have only been to istanbul, and that’s only for a couple of days of transit. so i had yet a chance to explore the country. i heard it’s not exactly safe to travel there.
Actually, been to few cities before the bomb incident, i found it to be pretty safe and decent for solo traveller(like me) to roam around πTWB
