Boasting its idyllic beaches, luxurious resorts and diversification of underwater species, Maldives is the perfect place for honeymooners and individuals who are seeking solace from hectic city life. Appearing prominently on many screen savers, Maldives’ white powdery sand and crystal clear turquoise water top the bucket list of many travel-goers.
It might be the smallest country in Asia with ninety-nine percent of it being water. But Maldives is made up of approximately 1200 islands scattered across the Indian Ocean paradise, thus making many of the resorts occupying its own island largely isolated from the rest of the world.
With only 1.5 meters of average ground level, Maldives is the lowest country in the world. And due to the recent rising sea level as the direct consequence of global warming, Maldives is in the brink of sinking. Will it be the next Atlantis? It will probably take a long time to disappear, but it is definitely a great idea to plan your travel trip as soon as possible!
Though it is a desirable place to visit, it comes with a hefty price tag—not only for the upscale resorts, but also for the sea planes or speedboats, as the local ferries don’t stop at the resort islands. But overall, it is still a splendid once in a lifetime adventure!
the location looks stunning. i would love to take solace there, but unfortunately i burn easily 😦
Its alright, just for once in a blue moon. Honey moon maybe? 😊😊TWB
honeymoon? the only country i find romantic enough is japan. and i always prefer a colder climate, so i think i’ll skip the beach.
