Sydney Opera House – Australia’s most recognisable icon worldwide – is truly a beautiful sight to behold. Created by renowned Danish architect Jørn Utzon in 1957, the simplistic design of shells and spheres triumphed over 200 entries worldwide to emerge victorious in a competition to design the Sydney Opera House in 1957. Although it was architecturally challenging to begin with, the final result is a timeless masterpiece and a visual spectacle. Indeed, it is very hard to imagine Sydney Harbour without the stunning Sydney Opera House.
